7 days to go until the 1st ‘unconference’ for event planners takes place in Birmingham

The first open space event and unconference for UK event professionals, The Annual Exchange, will open its doors to attendees at 9.30am next Thursday, the 19th July at The Vox Conference Centre Birmingham.

The event which has seen unprecedented interest from senior level event planners and organisers is the first industry event where the attendees are in the driving seat in regard to the content and decide upon the discussion topics that they want featured on the agenda, rather than traditionally what event producers think they want.

Senior organisers from London Business School, National Housing Federation, Brown Jacobson, RM Education, UK Finance, IFS, UK Coaching, University of Leicester, Mears Group and WSTA will join Andaz London, Hawthorn, Broadsword Productions, mcm creative group and Group Dynamics amongst others to discuss and share joint experiences on topics that include; event recruitment and retaining talent, establishing relationships and working cross-team, psychological aspects of group networking environments, event management and marketing solutions, modern day mentoring, time management and productivity, and new ways to pitch to event sponsors.

This inaugural pilot event which will also include 5 focussed venue, supplier, agency & freelancer, event and marketing networking hours is the result of the coming together and collaboration between EWL Club UK, The Future in 15 Show, ELEVATE Mentoring and The Event Marketing Association (EMA) to drive something new and engaging not just to their own networks and members but also to the wider events industry in terms of an innovative and dynamic event concept.
